1996 Freightliner with 50’ Custom Trailer
| Present owner acquired this Freightliner in 2001 to participate in personal classic car and wooden boat shows, so it had to be flexible for towing its 50’ custom enclosed car trailer or a separate 50’ boat trailer.
Owner’s collection manager spent some time searching for the right rig, this one had had a minor fender bender (no frame or any serious damage), and this was the cleanest and best example available. For those knowledgeable with Freightliner reliability, it is hardly broken in with only approximately 535,000 miles from new. In frame full rebuild done at about 525,000 miles. Under its present ownership, the Freightliner has been driven sparingly having made a couple of trips to the East Coast, with most of its travel between Southern California and Pebble Beach, Lake Tahoe and other nearby destinations transporting personally owned antique wooden boats and classic cars to shows. Designed with creature comfort driving in mind as the owner’s collection manager/driver was demanding for his personal comfort and safety as the owner is for the safety of his boats, cars and staff. Stored last five years in our owned secure industrial park, recent work to make it roadworthy included the following: Rebuilt starter, replaced starter solenoids, replaced heavy duty batteries. Could use a wax job and minor paint touch up where paint has weathered on left front fender.
